What the session covered

The "Bring Your Own AI" era has arrived - but for agencies and their enterprise clients, it often creates disconnected workflows and new headaches instead of productivity gains. This session shared patterns from dozens of enterprise discovery calls, revealing the real gaps teams hit when they try to put generative AI into their content pipelines.

The four enterprise AI gaps

  • Urgency vs. strategy - the pressure to "do AI now" clashes with starting with real, well-scoped workflows. The teams that ship something durable start small and focused.
  • Trust - security, compliance, and data governance still gate adoption. Moderation, telemetry, and logging aren't optional at enterprise scale.
  • Breadth vs. depth - a ChatGPT licence isn't a content strategy. The model is only as useful as the context and domain knowledge you give it.
  • API vs. flows - calling a model is easy. User value is hard. Context, permissions, and workflow integration are where the real work is.

The solution frame

The session introduced CKEditor AI as the embedded enterprise solution that addresses all four gaps: AI Chat, AI Review, and AI Quick Actions working directly inside the authoring workspace - with the security, compliance, and governance controls enterprise teams require.

The venue

DrupalCon Chicago 2026 - a 4-day event celebrating 25 years of Drupal, with an AI-sponsored summit on day one. The whole conference was framed around AI readiness in the Drupal ecosystem.
