What the session covered

AI is rapidly reshaping how digital experiences are built, managed, and optimized - but where does Drupal truly stand today? This session cut through the hype to examine how Drupal AI is transforming both the editorial workflow and the way developers and architects customize digital experiences.

Key areas

  • AI-assisted content creation - practical use cases for authors working inside Drupal, with CKEditor AI as the embedded layer.
  • Content modeling with AI - how to set up guardrails, semantic layers, and structured data that make AI reliable rather than unpredictable.
  • Governance and compliance - the human-in-the-loop approach that keeps AI output review-able and auditable.
  • Building an AI-ready foundation - architecture decisions that future-proof a Drupal site for the next wave of AI tooling.

The venue

Acquia Engage Denver 2026 at the Gaylord Rockies Resort. CKEditor was a sponsor; the room was over capacity with 64 people. The session photo ended up in Acquia's official Day 2 post.

We closed the conference with a dinner alongside Dries Buytaert (Drupal founder), Maya Schaeffer (Drupal Association board), and James Jackson-Abrahams (main driver behind Drupal AI).
